This was perhaps the second time in my life where I considered the background from the start and painted it first so it actually looks like it belongs there

learned a few things about textures and light again and used some new brushes.

I lone the way this whole piece comes together. The little cub is adorable and I like how the adult is aware of things but not really concerned. The background looks warm and inviting, which definitely fits with the title. It's a really good winter piece and an instant favorite. Thank you for sharing it!
